Error rates WSOB final matches

Neil, you are being kind. I am sure that some people play worse under pressure, and others play better...that's one of the things that made Michael Jordan so great...how he stepped up in the big moments of the big games.
For myself, I need pressure to play better. When I am playing on the computer and I know that every mistake will be noted, and if the match is being projected on to the wall and I know that lots of people are watching, I guarantee you I play at a lower ER than when I am simply playing over the board.
Different people react differently to pressure, but you can be sure that when someone is in the finals of a big tournament, no matter how many times they have been there, they are doing their best to focus and to make the best plays. If they come up short, I don't believe in excuses....lack of sleep, or pressure etc. don't count to me. If they made poor decisions in the finals, it is likely they would make them elsewhere.
The only good excuse I've heard was the one Paul Franks gave when he made a terrible play against me in an on-line match: "The sun was in my eyes!"
