I have a very good excuse for any time I make a very bad play: I am not that good a player. I played very poorly in the finals match against Neil, especially when I got behind in the score, as I decided that I have to really gamble to have a chance to win....if I try to grind it out against Neil, I know I'm a longshot. Does that mean I intentionally made bad plays and bad cubes to gamble? Maybe. But I am someone who needs no excuse for making blunders...I make them all the time. That is why I am not one of the better players in the world. I'm just not that good.

I probably play on the computer and see my ELO and ER as much as just about anyone in the world....I have no delusions about my ability. But I also won't bore you with a list of the world class players and Giants I have beaten over the years. Actually, for someone who has only been playing just over 50 years I think I'm pretty good!
