Maybe. You'll probably cover the valuable 4-point if he fails to hit. If he hits, the loss from being hit is reduced since the position can evolve into a complex mess where the weaker player will have many chances to go to BK. OTOH, most of his replies to this 52 opening are pretty obvious. The only replies where there's a reasonable chance of getting a misplay are 54,52,D3,D2 and, to a lesser extent, 62,51,41, and 21. Replying to 52D is more difficult since the weaker player could easily go astray with any of the following: 63,62,52,51,43,41,D3,32,D2, and 21.
