I'm not good enough to play 52$ except is trailing by somewhat in a match vs someone who I am sure makes lots of mistakes when I have extra checkers back in their board.

..ie I'd almost never slot 52 since building gets lots of immediate mistakes in return.

As for splitting, that wins the rollouts and is my usual play and isn't simple either, although the opp's immediate play errors don't usually cost as much as vs 52B.
