It's certainly true that you will be doubled out of games in which you would have been gammoned if the game was played to the end but it's also equally true that your opponenent will cube you out of some games that you otherwise would have won if there was no cube. The cubeless estimates of both your winning chances and your gammon-losing chances are therefore both too high since you will sometimes be cubed out before the game's over.
I think the cubeless estimates are fine. It's not really important to know how often the oppt plays on for the g and gets it or it goes R/T and you get g'd. The gammon threat is one of the inputs into the takepoint formula and often this will change a R/T into a R/P.
