I like 7/1*. It may leave one more blot, but it leaves 1,2,4,5 and 6's to make either the 7 or 9 point next turn, also making it more likely to accomplish something positive from the roof if hit. It may actually clean up easier than the less blotty play and certainly threatens to accomplish more if it works. Another small advantage is that if white enters two, but doesn't hit, the blot on the ace point is no longer a target, allowing full focus on making useful points.
