On a total tangent of plies vs. evals...have created a GNU rollout preset with 1296 trials 0/0 play truncated at 6-ply. This is about the same speed as 4-ply (marginally faster) and so far appears to be significantly stronger (about on par with XG roller IMO). Can't play against it yet, though.
