Factors for Tournament Attendance (2) -- WSOB Point System

In Response To: Factors for Tournament Attendance (2) -- WSOB Point System (Bob Koca)

I don't necessarily disagree; however, as I understand the current ABT point system the points awarded to the various cashers are directly related to the number of participants. Thus, winning Michigan (95), as an example, is worth the same as winning Minnesota (21), the US Open (25), Thousand Islands (27), and Colorado (22) combined. (I know it varies a bit with the number of places paid in each tourney.) So, the Michigan winner, at potentially 8-0 or 8-1, could get, effectively, the same points as the four-time winner at potentially 20-0.

I'm just saying that if, and when, we discuss a different point system these differences should be recognized, discussed, and resolved.
