Out of respect for you and out my desires to see WSOB succeed, I basically kept my mouth shut since you were on the team.
The delay and date changing of the finals is truly a travesty. All the uncertainties are contributing to many prospective players basically saying "Fuck it" rather than playing.
Personally I am SO GLAD that I didn't book London as I nearly did after seeing how much fun it was to watch and chat about Prague play online.
What caused me to not book, wasn't so much the fact that I basically am on a semi-break from BG, but my concerns with all the delays that I saw first hand in Cannes, and those I heard about in Prague. I have to state that having to take a short break in between games of money round matches so the betting line could be updated would be greatly distracting to me. Combine that with what I thought were some serious delays starting some of the matches that were to be on the internet, and you create something that would be close to intolerable for me. We do unfortunately see that televised BG productions aren't going to be simple nor easy on the players, and that both producer and players will have a learning curve requiring patience.
When you win a free entry you shouldn't have to pay reg. fees ! I am surprised that you didn't just pay half in Cannes or weren't paid after the event. I recall that you spent several hours setting clocks and teaching some staff how to do so. I also noted your online contributions in Prague when watching. In my opinion you did ample work for a team member.
The final thing that needs to be said is that organisers need to allow their experienced directors to direct the event with less interference.
