If true, this is sad.

I honestly believe that WSOB and the people involved had the best of intentions. There is no question that this kind of effort and public exposure is what the game needs. I also applaud Stick's vision of the "greater good".

But it also seems likely that various extreme pressures that we may not fully understand the extent of may have resulted in plans and commitments being changed, often at the last minute. If so, I believe the lesson from all this is that it is better to be up front and honest and transparent and apologetic with the various players affected. They may still not like the change; but at least they will walk away having a bit more respect for the way it was handled.
