In situations where it is hard for the trailer to make serious cube errors, such as would be the case at 2 away 8 away, I think it would take quite a bit more, maybe as much as 100 to 150 ELO difference to crossover, just guessing, since cube error rate was probably a significant part of the of the ELO difference in the first place. But your point is well taken, it would not have to be a very weak player for it to crossover, just someone that your were better than by 100 ELO or so.
