David R: To each their own, but i think listening to music is kinda silly.

Personally I think if I listened to music it would distract me. And, live BG is a social event, isn't it?

There is often plenty of chatter and noise at tables nearby, blocking that out can be a good thing. I sometimes play with music on - its mostly how I feel. And you can never underestimate AC/DC's Gammon-Go like qualities, equally, Dire Straits I find to be too relaxing. God help me if I ever decided to try some serious metal, or indeed some psychedelia.

Having said all that, in Michigan, ACDC was unable to save me vs Jason Lee, Dire Straits pounded me into dust, and I think every artist I switched to had it in for me.
