Ray, again, sorry if I offended.

I always value your counsel; however, like everyone (though to a lesser degree with you than many), you are not infallible either. I listen to input from all, assign more credibility to some than others (and I rate your input highly), and then incorporate ideas and suggestions into my game as I can and as I think appropriate.

I've always maintained that you, in my opinion, are the best at playing the game. While very strong, you are probably not the best technical player, but your play, coupled with psychological, emotional, and other intangible considerations, is formidable. Your success over many years demonstrates that.

I don't think comparing my recube to Sean with MCG's drop of Larry's recube is valid. I was in a 2-roll, 86% win position against a very capable player. MCG was in a 50% win position, with considerable gammon potential (maybe 25%+?) against him, while receiving a 4-cube from a substantially weaker player. I don't think the two decisions are comparable in any way; nor do I think they are particularly illustrative of tendencies by either.

I can appreciate, as numerous others have here, MCG's drop decision. I also appreciate your argument against my recube, but I rest easy with my decision there.

Do I, on occasion, cube or recube at inopportune moments? I'm sure I do. I'm sure I'm not alone in doing so. However, I don't think the recube to Sean was an example of poor cube play.
