I think Sam's point was that since you correctly assessed the position as a Redouble/Take, you should hope that your opponent errs by passing, which would have increased your equity slightly from the 86.111% percent it became the moment he took. (E.g. Woolsey's table has 2-away 8-away as 88% IIRC).
I'll guess that a more precise way to word your statement, "At 86%, I was hoping he would take" might be "At 86%, I would hope for Sean's sake that he knew it was a take".
In other words, you weren't playing this as a bluff double. You knew that it was correct whether or not Sean correctly takes.
And you did not make the bot-correct play. You made the correct play. Any human can do the math on a napkin to see that you increased your MWC from 84.666% to 86.111% with your Redouble.
