Is music allowed while playing?

Here is a link to the incriminating evidence:
'Incriminating' is quite harsh. I can tell you that I often wear headphones and there is no music playing. (no match equity tables, take points, or gammon values either Phil lol)
I see no reason this shouldn't be legal. I have never asked permission from my opponent. You will rarely see me listening to music playing Neil or Rich or Matt or etc... I like backgammon for the social aspect also however there are times when headphones and music are necessary for me. If I'm playing Gary xxxxxxxxxxx (his last name is German and he talks incessantly, someone else here will be able to give his name) or someone I don't care for all that much there's only one way for me to play a decent game and that's ignore them completely.
Other times when I play it's at fucking 11am-2pm and I'm sorry, but I'm just not awake. I don't want to be hassled with trying to communicate with people, it's a miracle I'm even up at this hour, so leave me alone til I'm ready to join society.
To address Phil's rule and concerns. He said:
The rules should cover items like this, and in my opinion, should state that if either party objects to music, headphones, cell phone calls or texting, or other distractions, it should not be allowed.
There are some very good reasons one might object to someone wearing headphones...here are just a few:
1. It is possible to listen to a recording of match equity tables or other helpful aids that might enhance your game;
2. Some people hum and sing along, bob their head or tap their fingers, and that can be very irritating;
3. In an important match, some people might take this as a sign of disrespect for the importance of the match, tournament or venue.
#1 - Rofl. If someone has to listen to a MET it isn't going to help their game in the least.
#2 - Some people talk to their friends, shake their dice when it's my turn, and do other nuisance like things. As long as you make a penalty for this I'll take a penalty for any head bobbing or humming. I'd love to know who this 'some people' is who wears headphones and does this. I'm sure Carter does while playing you but that's because it's you and Carter and I'm sure he's doing it on purpose. There aren't many others who wear headphones while playing.
#3 - If it is an important match it's more of a sign it is an important match and I'm taking it seriously if I'm wearing my headphones. I want complete concentration, no outside interference, and this is what wearing headphones affords me. I no longer have to hear the rest of the room shake their dice, random chouette outbursts or someone crying '62 from the bar!' when it happens. If I'm in the middle of MET calculations, race calculations, etc... I won't get interrupted midstream and have to start all over, this is esp. important when I'm playing on the clock.
Finally, and possibly the most important thing, if you're listening to AC/DC while playing (or any other time for that matter) you have piss poor taste in music and are bound to lose anyway.
