Peoria cube action #2 - OTB

Larry had been steadily improving his position over the past 10 rolls, missing many double-outs, and finally cubed me here. No RO but it is TG. He cubed here and I went into the tank.
I have heard something (I think from Kit) that as soon as you know you are taking or dropping you should just act. However rules have their exceptions and I had my reasons for deliberating here:
1) I knew I was passing
2) I really didn't want him to cube me early at -2 -3
3) The position has been pretty involatile (he just lifted his blot on the 3 pt, but I was pretty much passing in any case)
4) If I pass immediately he will realize that I would have passed on the previous rolls
5) Given that he will probably realize that even if he didn't think it was a cube I would still have passed
6) If I pass quickly there is a good chance he will cube me earlier at -2 -3.The only real decision I had over the past few rolls is how long I was going to think about the cube and how I was going to convince him I was actually thinking about taking. I decided I was going to think about it for about 15 seconds and move my hand to the checkers on the 9pt since they didn't seem to fit into any set pattern.
Did I act unethically or do I deserve an Oscar?
