In Response To: Is music allowed while playing? (Max Urban)

They have banned ALL electronic devices from their playing errors. I attended my 1st NABC in 10 years and was told my camera was an electronic device by one director (tho not by another). I suspect it will be another 10 years before I attend another NABC. And they continue to wonder why their events shrink in size ...

I was playing in an Atlanta NABC many years ago and we were on the bubble of making the cut for the next day. The early finishers congregated in the playing room and were making so much racket that it was hard to focus. The directors failed, miserably, to control something within their control. If I'd had my cassette player it wouldn't have been such an issue, but now that would not be an option. Yet, the ACBL still fails to control db levels in the playing area.
