Another one from the newsletter, so thanks to Bill for some pictures he took. (I'm still awaiting my copy of the videorecording.)

David had just rolled a forced 6-5, a truly horrible roll.

Almost before he could make the move and hit the clock, I flipped the cube to 4.

He almost immediately passed -- I'm sure he imagined me getting both checkers and gammoning him for the match.

I'm not sure I would have reacted any differently.

I think the important lesson for all of us is to learn to take a deep breath after a huge adverse swing of events, and not to act quickly while feeling down and depressed.
