With such a large race deficit and only one White checker back, Blue should stay back (to try to catch the second White checker), avoid getting hit, and build his board in preparation for attacking. He can't count on priming the White checker since it's at the edge of the prime, and he doesn't want to leave a direct shot when White has a 4-point board. bar/19 17/11 8/2(2) looks clear to me.
