Long XG rollout of opening 21

I think there is merit in making a play that you understand well over one that you don't understand well. A good example of this is the opening 64. Many players don't understand subsequent play after 64P (Point 8-2, 6-2) and therefore choose one of the alternatives. I also think there's merit in playing moves where you suspect your opponents won't know the responses. I've been experimenting with 43U (Up 24-20, 24-21) and 43S (Split 24-20, 13-10) at certain scores and have been getting a lot of mistaken responses.
To each his own, but .008 is pretty close to my limit as a deliberate mistake based on style. It is tough to get an advantage in this game based on superior play. I hate to give away much of anything without having a good idea of where the lost equity will be returned. Even if you are willing to make this choice, the rollout is valuable in confirming that the gift isn't greater than you think.
