Dear Adam,

Thank you for your comments and suggestions. I am sorry your experience was less than completely satisfactory. A great deal of planning and work goes into pulling off a successful tournament. Specific and constructive feedback from participants is a big help to us in planning and overseeing our tournaments. At our next tournament:

1. All open rounds will be clock-preference, with clock-required in money rounds.

2. TD will ensure that tournament staff know how to set clocks and ensure that clocks provided by staff are preset.

3. TD will ensure that all staff are familiar with the rules, schedule and format of the tournament. One of us will be able answer all your questions.

4. TD will consider providing coffee and light refreshments throughout the tournament, covered by a small "hospitality fee."

5. TD will try to arrange that the lecture room is large enough for anticipated attendance. TD will ensure that the display board is in good shape.

6. TD will ensure that the playing area is large enough for anticipated attendance. If a second room is needed, TD will try to arrange that it is conveniently located near the main room. TD will monitor and assign seating if necessary to ensure that neither room is overcrowded.

7. TD will ensure that the calcutta ends on schedule.

8. TD will not interrupt the calcutta for late arrivals, late registrations, and changes in registration.

9. TD will ensure that the tournament starts on schedule and do all that we can to ensure that all rounds begin on time.

10. TD will gladly assist players who have problems with accommodations and will, as we always do, discuss players' comments about the venue with hotel management.
