8 men in the zone, and 4 men back does not seem to be the time to start blitzing. But it seems that making the bar leaves white with too much play. 8 numbers make the 4 or 5 point anchor, 9 numbers hit on the 8 point. And failing that, white will frequently hit back on the 20 point, possibly making the 2 point anchor at the same time. It seems to me that the tempo of the hit, coupled with the white outfield blot stands to gain a lot. Whether blue gets hit back or not, the chances of making the defensive 20 point anchor seems to go up. Finally, making the bar locks up an asset, but at the expense of stripping the midpoint while leaving a blot on the 8 point that has nowhere to go and can only be covered by breaking the mid.
