In Response To: Time to stir the cauldron again... Appeals committee (rory)

I will not publish my list here for many reasons:

a. You're not talking to me, so I'm not talking to you;

b. I don't want to air all the rule change proposals and wording to the world, as there would be tremendous debate BEFORE anything gets changed, and as a result, nothing would get changed. Also, when you get 100 opinions, you end up with a lot of noise not worth my time. I wish there were a VR button on chats.

c. It is NOT YOUR PLACE or mine to make rule changes for tournament in the U.S. Rules need to be standardized internationally, and the best thing to happen is after we have a US Federation of Players who can set up an international committee to include people from the WBA and federations in Denmark, Japan and elsewhere to agree on a clear, precise set of rules, then it will be worth my time and effort to write up and explain the many changes I have in mind. I hope to be a part of that committee and effort when it happens. I think that "a bunch of guys" like we have here is not the proper place and way to make meaningful changes.

d. If you want to read about the many rules I think are wrong or poorly written, I have published 4 articles in the past 5 years on this subject...the latest two on GammonVillage. I explain, in detail, what I believe is wrong with our current rules. Feel free to read them.
