Chuck writes: Apparently Howard had a ruling overturned by an appeals committee (at least) once, and he disagreed with the subsequent resolution.

At the 1999 Las Vegas Open a committee of three overturned a ruling by Howard. I do not know if it was that incident that soured Howard on appeals committees (at his tournaments -- I know he's served on such a committee elsewhere) or whether he disagreed with the committee's decision. Details, Chuck, are on your shelf in a back issue of Flint Backgammonews.

Please, the rest of you, speak up.

I think a TD-appointed committee is a good idea. But the fact that Howard and Pat don't have them wouldn't keep me from attending tournaments run by them.

I'll hold off from stating my feelings/reasoning for now.
