Hm.... let's look at the position. We are back in the race but we are far from hopeless in the race. Hitting with the 5 seems mandatory but where to play the 1?

9-8? But we like to hold the 9.

22-21? I feel more comfortably with a live assurance (did I ever mention that my day job is at an insurance? :) )

What about alternatives? If not hitting I like 16-11,6-5 a lot, but it leaves quite some shots.

I think our position is only a little bit worse, so we don't need to use desperate moves. Why not hit with 8-3 and then the cowards move 3-2? Naturally I prefer not moving the 1 but I think all other moves are worse, than putting a checker semi-out-of-play. Unless white rolls a set he can not do something really bad for us and let's see what pops out of the dice cup the next time...

So 8-3*,3-2 and wait for the next move.....

And I'm curious for the rollout ;))
