This was not what Phil said, nor is it anythign clsoe to what was implied. I still wish Phil to provide evidence for his claim.

I agree, but one step further is that the reverse is also true. Advances in XG can push the GnuBG team as well. That is why bot competition is good for the game of backgammon.

You and I do: "advance the game of Backgammon". I consider your repsonse objective and thoughtful. What I see is Phil as beinga Shill who has lost his objectivity. My issue is not with XG at all.
