Simborg Chouette Rule Challenge

The truth is, the rules of our chouette probably favor the better players more than most chouettes and more than they should. The ability to pick and choose who you double and who you take, and whether to take a partner in the box or not (depending on who is sitting across from you), the ability to make settlements, and the inability of the weaker players to get consulting help when they are playing, all work greatly to the advantage of the better players.
As it happens, the people who don't like our rule actually are good players and would benefit from this rule greatly from a financial standpoint, but they simply don't like it. It's hard to sit there and watch someone make a bad move that costs you money and you not have any say in the matter. Personally, I love to see that, because I know that when I am in the box or against a poor player, his not getting help will give me even more points. Also, getting in 1/3 more games in an hour (I can document this) is of great benefit to better players, but most of all, eliminating excruciating arguments and debates is the major reason we need this rule. Again, before we had it, the daily chouette was disolved, with several of us playing privately without inviting those who were too unreasonable and nasty insisting on their moves. Since several of those people were also the worst players, it was a shame to lose them. Now, the problem is pretty much solved.
One interesting aside, Carter had the brilliant idea that if someone beavers their cube is at 4 so they could talk. It has added a new dimension to the game which I am enjoying immensely!
