In Response To: a 501 forum rollout link? (jm)

Before this thread started, I was already 3/4 through a project to generate rollouts for the most interesting positions in Robertie's book (interesting = 'discrepancies between gnubg and Robertie') and post the results on my website.

Give me a little time, and I will be happy to take the bgonline rollouts and post the most interesting ones in HTML format on my website. That is, unless someone objects. I obviously have no qualms about posting my own rollouts to my website, but before posting others' rollouts, I want their permission. Who exactly generated these rollouts? Do I have your permission?

Let me also say that my plan is to post the rollout figures only and not pictures of the positions (the rollouts will be identified by position number, of course). Even if posting the positions would not put me on the wrong side of copyright law, I feel it is only fair to Cadogan Press and Bill Robertie that I do what I can to ensure that the website will act only to enhance the experience of those who have already purchased the book, and not to act as a free substitute for the book.

I don't quite know how to automatically convert a pile of SGF files to HTML files of the form I want, namely containing the rollout table only and not the position or the match information, etc. If someone knows how to do this and is willing to volunteer to help me, then I expect that I can post all of the rollouts on my website (with the interesting ones highlighted). Failing that, I will at least post the most interesting ones, as defined above.
