Thanks Ed Bennett for being a great partner and opponent

Ed and I won the doubles. We had never sat at the same board together before this weekend. But we wound up facing each other round 2 in the main event. I must have impressed Ed with the way I won that game. Yes, game - as I skillfully managed to win the 15 point match with a gammon on an 8-cube. We had some good laughs afterward. To start the match I had asked Ed if he would be willing to play with a clock. He declined commenting not to worry because he played pretty quickly. I had no idea.

I had just lost to Malcolm in the semis and wound up at the desk with Ed as we were both registering for the $100 jackpot. At that point Howard announced that he was selling the last spot in the Doubles. Ed asked me if i'd like to play and I agreed. Thanks for asking! Needless to say we won our first match and found we were paired against each other in the jackpot. I was the gracious loser in this one and Ed went on to win the field.

I've heard great things about Ed Bennett but it was great to have this chance to finally see for myself.
