Yes -- if we're talking about "impossible" moves, which I would define to include putting your own checker on the bar, bearing off an opponent's checker, and maybe something similar that is not occurring to me at the moment. I'd also include punching the clock automatically after a prolongued sojourn on the bar and not noticing that the 6 pt was cleared. (I'm not sure about moving a 2-7 or 5 checkers, etc.) I'm looking for situations where it will always be clear to the opponent that an impossible move has been made. In almost all cases, the opponent will notice an impossible move, and should point it out before rolling the dice. If he doesn't there is a risk that the impossible roller will choose to correct the play based on the subsequent roll, but this seems highly unlikely -- i.e., that a player will purposely make an impossible move in the hope of gaming the situation. Such players should be barred.
