But you also lose the power to make certain moves yourself, so it's not entirely clear. Whenever you have the larger stack, your moves carry an implied threat: go up against me and you might be risking your tournament life. Smaller stacks aren't a threat to anyone.
You have the advantage that you can go all-in and see the remaining cards for free; but you likewise have the disadvantage that you can't move anyone off the pot before all the cards are down. So it's a mixed bag.
In all the time I used to post at 2+2 I don't remember anyone ever being able to present a conclusive answer to these questions. A related variation, similarly difficult to solve, is: if you double your stack on the first hand of the tournament, has your equity doubled, more than doubled, or less than doubled?
