Score is 2-away 3-away and the cube has been turned. That means gammons are worthless for white and valuable for black.

Had the scores been reversed, making the 3 may be the way to win a gammon here, but keeping the prime certainly looks like the way to win while minimizing gammon risk. It also has the advantage of generating a shot with black 16 and 26.
