Philosophical Question on 'Wrong D/P is not an Error'

You are correct that normally speaking, if you doubled incorrectly, it is an error, regardless of what your opponent does. However, I think you missed a key point of the original post:
"If we enable 'Wrong Double/Pass is not an Error' "
I think the poster is saying that there is a setting in the bot's analyzer that allows you to tell it to treat wrong doubles that yield wrong passes as non-errors for purposes of computing error rate. Assuming that this setting is selected, then he questions how should the error rate computation work.
Obviously, if you don't personally like selecting this option, then don't choose it. But I can personally see the merit of the option.
I'd also be interested in seeing cube error analysis that takes into account "Fish" METs. I think it would be a great analysis feature to be able to look at the cube decisions both ways - technically correct and vs. Opponent with given Elo delta.
