My priorities here, leading 8-2/13, would be: first, don't lose a gammon; second, win the game. 24/22 5/2 doesn't immediately expose another blot (helping me avoid a gammon) and allows me to escape with a 6 (helping me win), so that would be my play. 24/22 7/4* might win more games and gammons, but it leads to more gammon loses, something I'd like to avoid at this score. 7/4* 3/1 will probably get me in trouble in a couple of rolls as my board crunches and additional blots are exposed. As for 5/2 3/1, why play 3/1 when I can play 24/22 and improve my chances of escaping?
