"You guys must roll better than me, sometimes my position gets worse instead of getting better, sounds like for some people when they get close to double their position almost always gets better. If I'm already at a position that my opponent will pass, why should I leave it up to the dice whether I can cash on my next roll or not? I guess so I don't have to defend my premature cube later, is what it sounds like. "

You are mischaracterizing what I said.

And I will trade some of my good dice in those positions for your ability to know that the opponent will pass.
