In Response To: Philosophical Question on 'Wrong D/P is not an Error' (Bob Koca)

Bob, I'm just going to admit to being dizzy at this point and move on. The only point I ever tried to make was that there is a range of opponent dependent mode of scoring dependent positions that are no doubles versus god that are good doubles against those opponents, not because they are certain to pass, but that they can be relied upon to pass frequently enough. I was moved to enter into this fray because I couldn't believe that folks couldn't recognize that was true, independent of whether or not anyone thinks anyone else is good enough to work out when that might be true. It's my assertion that it's possible to have knowledge of a particular opponent that makes this practice profitable. At this point I can't even work out whether we are at least in agreement on this much or not, but it feels pointless either way. I'll apologize for whatever unintentional mischaracterizations (jesus, did I just type a 20 letter word?) of your previous post(s) that I may have made. Cheers.
