Q for Nack re JG

I think Nack is too polite and well-mannered to tell what he thinks of playing Jerry Grandell.

One year they played each other in Monte Carlo. Grandell had to play double aces, I think in an early game position. Hugh Sconyers was watching the match and timed him. Grandell spent more than 30 minutes on this one play.

No one disputes that Grandell was technically a great player, but this kind of conduct in a tournament in totally unacceptable.

I do not think Nack wants to reveal what he thought about playing Grandell.

If you want anecotes, here is one for you. I spent some time with Jerry in Brazil in 1994 and 1995. One time when he flushed the toilet, he flushed $300 in cash literally down into the sewer.
