OTB I often play on autopilot (when there's not much equity at stake in an event) and might make the 3pt at all scores.

If I were paying attention at pure GG (gammon go), I would definitely attack with 11/9 4/2* in spite of White's having no third blot. At the actual score (-5-5 and having cubed to 2) I'll go with the sensible 3pt. Somewhere between this score and pure GG, there's probably a score that creates a borderline decision (if this isn't already it or more than it -- though honestly I suspect that only because you chose to post the position).
