In MCG's defense, I would say that the fact that the average reader's incomprehension of these technical terms is irrelevant. He didn't use those terms in his article; he's using them here, to defend his choice to us.

108 games might well be enough for this particular position, but I still tend to side with Jason. If you're an expert then maybe you don't need as much evidence to confirm what you're pretty sure of anyway, but the less experienced player may be misled into thinking that when a 108-game rollout confirms their own play then they can safely stop.
