However, I would ask for an explanation as to me how the score isnt a significant influencing factor.

I'm not desperate enough to worry about what will happen with the cube in 3- or 4-roll sequences...I just make the DMP play.

Worst case scenario is of course: Pay later, roll a 62, but thats not a frequent occurrence, much more common would be the sets, or a potentially shot leaving 6 that white exits with.

Worst case scenario is of course White making the 2 point and then rolling 62. But there are plenty of other bad scenarios. For example, White makes the 2 point and you roll 65, or White makes the ace point and you roll 54, etc. These are significantly worse than leaving 12 shots now.

Of course you do gain hugely when White throws a 6 (assuming you don't roll trash after) or you roll a set.
