My personal judgement is that 44 JSD is huge and no reason to continue after the 108 games.

I think this misses the point. I agree that the rollout almost certainly shows what the correct play is. I would not bet any amount of money that it would be overturned if continued.

My original point was that when writing an article for public consumption, the casual bg reader probably doesn't know enough about all of this. As a general rule, 108 trials is not good show. To avoid promulgating the idea that a short number of trials is, in general, sufficient, I advocate ALWAYS rolling out to a minimum 1296 trials -- when publishing an article.

The rollouts you do in your own home with the lights dimmed while you sit at your computer table in your skivvies while eating Fiddle Faddle and watching reruns of The Golden Girls... that's your business.
