Adding to what Walfinho wrote, I imagine that the American pronunciation of "Leibster" is nearly as close as an American pronunciation can be to the German pronunciation of "Liebster" (which would be even closer to "leep-stah"). When I first read the name "Leibster", I immediately thought that there might be an etymological connection to German "Liebster".
