11 to play DMP any difference?

Gammons matter for money, but I think that slotting the 4 is right by a bigger margin for money.
Why I think making the 4 is near its best at the 3-away score than either for money or at DMP is the increased value of undoubled gammons coupled with the fact that it will virtually never be right at the score to turn the cube. The game will likely be played to the end just like DMP. Slotting the 4 will win more games and it will produce more situations where the cube can be used effectively under more normal circumstances. Those circumstances do not exist here.
As the rollouts show, there is very little difference in gammon losses between the two plays. If making the 4 is right at 3-away, it is not because of the risk of the slot and any need for caution at this score; it is all because of winning more undoubled gammons.
A virtually dead cube in this kind of position, coupled with high valued gammon wins and very low gammon losses no matter what choice is made combine to make this 3-away situation oddly similar to a GG decision. That is good to remember.
