XG Backgame Bungle?

The confidence intervals for the top two plays in the rollout are relatively huge. If you extend the rollout, you'll have a better idea what XG 3-ply "thinks." It might be more interesting, though, to look and see how XG plays certain continuations. For instance, don't assume that XG is hitting the lovely blots that certain plays leave. Perhaps it is, but if you play 10/9 8/5 against Gnubg which then rolls 6-5, it plays 23/12, which might surprise (Gnubg offers the extra fun of wildly different evaluations at odd and even ply). Finally, I'd think rollouts with opponent holding the cube and preferably for money might have greater use, since I think a bot needs to understand this position especially well to handle a 0-0/3 score and a centered cube.
And besides all that ... I'd play 10/7 9/8, since I think making the complete prime is the right idea. As opponent, I'd be very glad to see some other play that gives up completely on a 6-prime squeeze and lets me move extra back men out, often with a choice of whether to hit or not.
