In spite of your implications S is not best, I'm missing the apparent trap.

Based on the data available, I will pick S anyway at this cubeless score of -4-1c, which might be considered gammon good (L:G tradeoff reduced from 2:1 to say 31:19) but not gammon go (L:G tradeoff of 1:1).

Please show me the error of my ways.
