In Response To: When to hand record move? (Jason Lee)

Write his/her move immediately upon your clock starting to run. In writing down your opponents move, you notice an illegal play. You might not have noticed the illegal play otherwise.

Writing your move down before making it, changing your mind realizing that you should double or making another move. Erasing.

Perhaps these picky rules will lead to smooth, quiet games, with unobtrusive record keeping.

Just a proposal to mitigate some potential annoyances.
