Do you have Kit Woolsey's Backgammon Encyclopedia? It will help with a lot of the questions you are asking.

Thanks. I do have it, but I confess to not having given it the attention it deserves. (At one point, I blew quite a bit of dosh on my BG library. Many fine tones are languishing beneath a patina of dust, alas.)

But you've convinced me it's high time to revisit Mr. Woolsey.
