23/18(2) 23/13 is nice when White is able to gain control of the outfield, but she's a couple rolls from that yet, and one misstep in the containment (starting with Black's 4 immediate shots) and there goes the neighborhood.

I think White should squander that opportunity and hang onto the backgame option for now. Realistically, that leaves 23/13 8/3*(2) and 23/3*.

I like the latter (hitting loose) because White doesn't mind getting hit, and if she doesn't get hit maybe she can cover that blot and go forward later, after she has run a checker or two. Meanwhile, as the saying goes, "four in a row is more than you think."

It's really too bad White can't stand pat by playing only two or three 5s, for one thing to force Black to break an inside point and leave a blot with 44 and 33. That would give White a stronger position.
