BIG tournament thought experiment

In Response To: BIG tournament thought experiment (Phil Simborg)

Play it straight through from like 9 am thru 10 pm Friday and Saturday and 9 am to completion on Sunday. Obviously, clocks mandatory. Double elimination with progressive consolation or a pure Swiss format.

Sides games of various sorts, if some have to have them, are reserved only for players otherwise eliminated from the tournament. First and foremost it is supposed to be a tournament, not a carnival.
