Hitting with the 41 here seems even clearer than hitting with the 31 in the other five-prime position. Should Yellow lift 7/6 and hedge against gammons? No. She should play 8/7 in the hopes of getting a consecutive prime, and to get a direct shot on a second blot if Brown rolls 52 that she doesn't get if she fails to make the 7pt.
13/8 leaves no root numbers and leaves Brown more good numbers overall. 8/7 8/4 is blotless and at least leaves 41 as a root number but otherwise it doesn't try hard enough to win; even if Brown can't run out, Yellow might just be induced to hit on the 3pt next turn and more awkwardly. These plays reduce gammon risk compared to 8/3* but it just can't be worth it IMHO.
